No Common Sense in Washington

Friends,
Last week the Senate Finance Committee rejected a common sense amendment offered
by Senator Jim Bunning of Kentucky that would have required the committee to
post on its website and make available to the public the legislative language of
the health care reform bill for at least 72 hours before the committee votes on
final passage.
It is incredible to me that yet again Congress is going to vote on a 1,000+ page
bill without having read it.
It is even more incredible when you think about the fact that this bill will
drastically change the health care system in our country and affect more than
one sixth of our economy.
We need more common sense in Washington, and that's why I'm writing today to ask
for your help for my campaign for U.S. Senate.
There is a critical fundraising deadline this Wednesday, September 30th. That is
the cut off date for 3rd quarter fundraising. Soon our campaign will report
fundraising results to the Federal Election Commission covering the last three
months.
Please help me today by making a contribution of $100, $50, $25 or even $10. Any
amount you could give would be a huge help as we close out the quarter.
You see, when these reports come out, they're reviewed by the press, pundits,
both political parties and our opponents, who will judge the strength of our
campaign based in part on our fundraising success.
Your contribution today will make a very important impact on this campaign. Your
help is critical to helping me win this election and to our keeping this Senate
seat in Republican hands.
We must restore some checks and balances on this Administration by electing more
common sense conservatives to the U.S. Senate.
Thank you for all the encouragement and support you've given me already. Nancy
and I are eternally grateful for all that you're doing on our behalf.
Sincerely,
Trey Grayson
